Citizen participation in government is a central tenet of democracy. Do you feel that your voice is heard by the elected representatives of our country on issues that affect you and your community? Do you have enough avenues to connect or dialogue with the relevant government officials? To ensure that citizen aspirations and concerns are heard and addressed by political parties, some organisations around the world hold mass consultations with different groups and document a 'people's manifesto' before elections.
