Creating alert, informed and active citizens

Thank you, Ms.Sudha Rani of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Guru Thank you, Ms.Sudha Rani of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Gurukulam (Narsipatnam, Ankapalli, Andhra Pradesh) for sharing your experience with one of the activities of the ACTiZENS’ Club programme. We are heartened to learn that the ‘Share the Load’ activity struck a chord with some of the students. We hope they continue to reflect and act in empathetic ways and become ACTiZENS.

#MondayMotivation Today’s Story of Change comes #MondayMotivation

Today’s Story of Change comes from the programme that we offer to college students - The ACTiZENS’ Collective.

While our flagship programme, the ACTiZENS’ Club, has been touching the lives of school students, via monthly activities, we felt a strong need to curate a new set of opportunities for college students so that they are encouraged to step out of their ‘comfort zones’ and work on a civic action project in their neighbourhood.

Participants of the programme also conduct primary research to understand the problem that they have decided to address and then attempt to engage with local government officials in order to report the issue and find sustainable solutions.

We are delighted to share what students from VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law in Goa did, as part of this ACTiZENS’ Collective programme.

Streetlights on Borim Bridge had stopped working. Students Kadambari, Aislita, Saima, Anand, Amey, and Vijay launched a signature campaign, gathered evidence, and pushed for action.
