Creating alert, informed and active citizens

#WednesdayWisdom “What kind of world are we le #WednesdayWisdom

“What kind of world are we leaving behind for future generations? And who will help shape a more just and resilient one?

Increasingly, the answer lies with young people—and with a renewed understanding of citizenship. Across contexts, moments of social transformation are often driven by youth who are alert to injustice, informed about their realities, and active within their communities.”

This is an excerpt from Dr. Anita Patil-Deshmukh’s article for our blog. Read the full article at https://bit.ly/ArticleByDrAnitaPatilDeshmukh (link in bio).

“Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reac “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached” is a slogan popularised in the late 19th century by Indian Hindu monk and philosopher Swami Vivekananda.

On his birth anniversary today, we wish you all a very empowering National Youth Day!

#MondayMotivation Today’s Story of Change comes #MondayMotivation

Today’s Story of Change comes from the programme that we offer to college students - The ACTiZENS’ Collective.

A group of students from St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Goa worked to revive neglected wells in Aldona village. With the panchayat’s support, they surveyed the community and submitted a request for water testing, chlorination, and maintenance.

Impact: Directorate of Health Services, Panjim, stepped in, marking a significant step towards restoring vital water sources.

This story is a reminder that when young citizens engage with the intent to find solutions, even overlooked systems begin to respond.
