Creating alert, informed and active citizens

“Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reac “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached” is a slogan popularised in the late 19th century by Indian Hindu monk and philosopher Swami Vivekananda.

On his birth anniversary today, we wish you all a very empowering National Youth Day!

#MondayMotivation Today’s Story of Change comes #MondayMotivation

Today’s Story of Change comes from the programme that we offer to college students - The ACTiZENS’ Collective.

A group of students from St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Goa worked to revive neglected wells in Aldona village. With the panchayat’s support, they surveyed the community and submitted a request for water testing, chlorination, and maintenance.

Impact: Directorate of Health Services, Panjim, stepped in, marking a significant step towards restoring vital water sources.

This story is a reminder that when young citizens engage with the intent to find solutions, even overlooked systems begin to respond.

A thoughtful reflection on ACTiZENship, youth leadership, and everyday democratic practice by our guest author who is the Director-Programs and Principal Investigator in Partners for Urban Knowledge Action and Research (PUKAR), which is an independent research collective and knowledge producing institution.
